The mornings over the past week have been gray with the marine layer hanging heavy over the coast. But today the sun appeared early as we set out releasing Pamela’s ashes at sea. We had a short service, and as she requested, we spread her ashes into the waters between Seal Beach and Catalina Island.
Flowers filled the ocean. Blooms from the beautiful arrangements some of you sent to the memorial service were dropped into the Pacific. Lei’s from a floral shop near our old home in Honolulu were shipped in and in keeping with Hawaiian tradition they were cut and the individual flowers set free into the ocean with Pamela’s ashes.
